Hi Alicia! Thank you for the kind words and for reading. Yes! These exercises are great for those with osteopenia and osteoporosis, with the caution that the option selected minimizes fall risk. For example, I would not recommend someone with osteoporosis who has never done a box jump to start jumping on a 20 inch box. Step ups are a great start. Once the person is confident in the movement and stable, jumping onto a plate on the floor would be the next step... and progress incrementally confirming confidence and stability prior to increasing height.
Hi Carla - Box jumps are underrated for exactly this reason. Power fades faster than strength, but nobody trains for it. Adding step-ups as makes this usable for where people are, not just the fittest reader. Trying this at my own gym this week. As always, great info - Heather
