My Friends! If you are an athlete of any level struggling with training or performance during the mid-life transition, this episode is a must-see! Erika Snyder, a former professional CrossFit competitor turned Mental Strength Coach shares some invaluable strategies for returning to your A-Game! Enjoy! Carla
As individuals who take fitness seriously - either as avid recreational or elite athletes - the transition through mid-life can pose challenges that cut to the core of our well-being and even our identity.
Some days you train like a Ninja. Other days, it’s a challenge to get out of bed. You feel depressed and defeated because it sometimes comes out of nowhere and is completely unpredictable. There is fatigue… pain … or the fear of riding or running the same course that you crushed many times before. You wonder “what has happened to me?”. You feel angry, depressed, and maybe even scared of these new physical changes and the spiral begins into training less… training scared … or just not wanting to train at all.
Erika Snyder is a former professional CrossFit competitor turned Mental Strength Coach who is dedicating her career to helping athletes (and now company executives!) develop that mental fitness that sees us through times when our body and mind seem to be getting the best of us.
During Part 1 of this interview, “Your Body is Not the Enemy”, Erika and I discuss strategies for overcoming these challenging situations that can grind our training to a halt. During Part 2 - “Carla and Erika Uncut”, see what a live mental strength coaching session entails as Erika helps me through a mental struggle that I recently experienced.
Mental Strength Coaching can be a life-changing experience. If you are an athlete who is struggling or just wants to gain that mental edge, you don’t want to miss this episode!
