This is a brilliant exercise. I used to get my fitter PT clients doing the full crawl. In the current classes I teach for back care and keep fit, I get the class to simply hold a bear plank.

A steady part of ER work is older patients who fell and couldn't get back up, sometimes hours on the floor before anyone found them.
How serious the fall is comes down to how well the fall can be controlled and also recovered from: shoulders, core, and hips that can still move the body around on all fours.
