Hi Junie... thank you for your question! According to the studies cited in the 2023 IOC Consensus statement, this is the total daily intake for sedentary women. The first time I read it, I went back and re-read it multiple times, thinking this can't be correct... but that is what this particular study contends. It just drives home the point of how underfed so many athletic women are as a consequence of what, historically, was NOT known about the differences in fueling male and female active and athletic women and the societal and cultural pressures that impacted expectations back in the 1980's and 1990's. Thanks again for subscribing! :) -Dr. Carla
I thought the 45kcal/kg of FFM was energy remaining after activities/exercice/sport. Not as total energy intake for the day. So the 2160 kcal would be for a sedentary woman?
